about me

My Mission Statement is that ‘People connect to their inner Shaman or Healer’.  I see the work that I do as as exploration for others to see & realise their full potential in self-healing.

My one-to-one work can be anything from one, to a combination of the various methods that I have trained & explored.

The main methods I work with include:  Acupuncture & Chinese medicine, Breathwork, Reiki & Yoga & Somatic Experiencing.  Somatic Experiencing works to release Trauma with a safe & gentle approach.

My favourite definition of a healer is:  ‘Someone who reminds us of our song & sings it back to us.’  Sometimes we just need to be reminded of our Wholeness.

Main Trainings & Explorations:

I trained in Active Breathwork Meditation with my teacher David who I am continuing to learn from. This has been a transformational part of my daily practice & healing. Presently I facilitate these classes in person & online.

I am currently studying a 3 year training in ‘Somatic Experiencing’ which is the work of Peter Levine in gently resolving trauma.  I have been on this explorative journey for the past few years & bring elements of it into my work when appropriate.

I graduated as an Acupuncturist in 2009 having studied & trained for 3 years in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine at the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland in Dublin.  I trained with doctors including Dr Wu Jidong of Middlesex University and Dr Fanyi Meng & Dr Lao Jin Huide of Lincoln University.

In 2009 I undertook a postgraduate training programme at Nanjing University’s International Acupuncture Training Centre at the TCM hospital of Jian Su Province in China.

With a keen interest in local plant medicine I completed a 2 year herbal apprenticeship in Herbal and Botanical Medicine with Nikki Darrell & her team at Veriditas Hibernica .

With a deeper curiosity in the plant world spent 2 years on & off in Peru learning from the Shipibo people & gaining an insight into their ancient knowledge of plants, this was a huge & invaluable part of my own health & healing.   With immense gratitude to the plants I am privileged to be able to continue this work which allows me to assist others in their healing & always learning more about myself & my own healing as part of this process.

I was one of the 12 founding member of Acupuncture Childbirth Team (ACT) Dublin.  The ACT team (now AFPI) are a group of established and registered acupuncturists who provide treatments for fertility, pregnancy and childbirth in the Dublin area who work in collaboration with the fertility, maternity and paediatric services provided within Dublin & have all undergone post-graduate training in the areas of fertility, pregnancy and childbirth.  A.C.T. Dublin covers Dublin city centre and surrounding areas north, south, east, west and Bray.

I continue to train under experienced & inspiring teachers.

My initial Yoga training was as a certified Iyengar yoga teacher with Aisling Guirke in Dublin 2010-2012.  I am dedicated student to my practice and continue to regularly attend training courses.  I am drawn to yoga of all traditions, believing that ‘the essence of yoga practice comes from within & in order to understand & learn we simply have to look with an open mind within ourselves at life all around us’.

I have worked with the Acupuncture Foundation college as clinical supervisor for third year student clinics & exams.

I have also worked as an Acupuncturist & Yoga teacher with Dublin Simon Community on a volunteer basis & have assisted in programmes to help spread awareness of Complimentary therapies to its residents.

I am a registered member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association & a Teacher Member of the Iyengar Yoga Association.
